Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 29, 2026
TokenBar has no servers of its own. Your provider credentials and usage stay on your devices and in your own iCloud. The only data that leaves them is anonymous analytics (Firebase) and purchase records tied to a random ID (RevenueCat).
Overview
TokenBar is a utility for macOS, iOS, and Apple Watch that monitors your AI usage limits (Claude and other providers you choose to connect). Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data TokenBar accesses, how it is handled, and what is stored.
Analytics
TokenBar uses Firebase Analytics (by Google) to collect anonymous, aggregate usage statistics such as app opens, screen views, session duration, and in-app events like viewing the TokenBar Pro screen or starting a trial. This helps us understand how the app is used and improve it.
- No personally identifiable information is collected
- No advertising identifiers are used
- No data is shared with third parties for advertising purposes
- Analytics data cannot be linked to your Claude.ai or other provider accounts
You can learn more about Google's data practices at policies.google.com/privacy.
Purchases (TokenBar Pro)
TokenBar Pro subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details.
To check whether you have an active subscription, and to unlock it across your iPhone and Mac, TokenBar uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives:
- A random identifier that TokenBar generates. It is not your name, email, Apple ID, or any provider account.
- Your purchase history for TokenBar: which product, when, price, currency, and storefront country.
- Basic technical details such as app version and OS version.
You can learn more at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Data We Do Not Collect
TokenBar does not:
- Include advertising or ad-tracking SDKs
- Use crash reporting services tied to your identity
- Operate servers of our own that store your data
We cannot see your provider credentials or your usage details.
Data Stored on Your Devices
- Provider credentials (the Claude.ai session cookie, API keys, and tokens for other providers you connect) are stored in the Keychain, encrypted by the operating system.
- Usage history used for the trend chart and limit forecast is stored in the app's private storage on your device, for up to 90 days.
- App preferences such as refresh interval, notification settings, and display options are stored in UserDefaults.
- Widgets: on iPhone and Apple Watch, the latest usage snapshot is shared with TokenBar's own widgets through an app group on your device.
iCloud Sync
If you are signed in to iCloud, TokenBar uses your private iCloud key-value storage to keep your devices in sync. This includes your provider configuration and credentials, your latest usage snapshot, your TokenBar Pro status, and the random purchase identifier described above. This data lives in your own iCloud account, protected by Apple, and is not accessible to us.
Network Requests
TokenBar connects directly from your device to:
- The AI providers you enable, to fetch your usage. For example
claude.ai,api.openai.com,api.github.com,cursor.com,openrouter.ai, and others listed in the app. Requests go only to providers you have switched on, using the credentials you provided. - Firebase (Google), for anonymous analytics.
- RevenueCat and Apple, to process and verify purchases.
No intermediary server of ours is involved.
Sign-In Flow
When you use the in-app Claude sign-in, a web view loads claude.ai directly. Your login credentials are entered on Anthropic's website, not in TokenBar. The app only reads the session cookie after successful authentication. TokenBar is not affiliated with Anthropic.
Data Deletion
To remove the data TokenBar stores:
- Open Settings and choose Reset All Settings. This clears provider credentials, preferences, usage history, and the synced iCloud configuration.
- Delete the app.
To request deletion of purchase records held by RevenueCat, contact us at the address below.
Children's Privacy
TokenBar does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
